I work with people in every stage of life, who come to therapy for all sorts of reasons. I also have a few areas where I particularly specialize. You can learn more about these areas of specialization and my approach to them below.

    Autism and Neurodivergence

I work extensively with autistic and otherwise neurodivergent people using a neurodiversity-affirming approach. I believe that neurodivergence, like other aspects of human diversity, is something to be celebrated and supported. I particularly work with late-diagnosed autistic people (including those currently exploring or seeking a diagnosis), autistic women and LGBTQIA+ people, and 2E (neurodivergent and intellectually gifted) young adults.

    Eating Disorders and Body Image

One of my specialties is working with eating disorders. I wrote my MSW thesis on the prevalence of restrictive eating disorders in higher-weight individuals, and diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders for patients in larger bodies remains a particular passion of mine. I work from a fat-liberationist perspective rooted in the principle that all people deserve to feel joy and peace in their bodies.

    "Treatment-Resistant" and "Severe" Illness

I work with many patients who have had multiple unsuccessful courses of therapy in the past. They may have been told they are “treatment-resistant” or given diagnoses such as borderline personality disorder. They might experience symptoms like self-harm, chronic suicidal ideation, and severe depression. I believe that every single person has the capacity to live a rich and full life, and I am committed to staying the course of treatment with patients, regardless of the severity of their symptoms or the duration of their illness.

    Sexuality and Identity

I work with people from all parts of the LGBTQIA+ “umbrella,” on everything from self-discovery to coming out to combating stigma and bigotry to transition-related healthcare. I also work with a variety of concerns related to sexual desire, expression, and pleasure. I am experienced in working with polyamorous and non-monagomous folks, and knowledgeable about BDSM and kink communities and practices.
